Summer

Chalet de Compagnie is located in the Lötschental, Valais, one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the Alps. Our chalet is situated on the southern slope of the sunny valley, from where you can embark on a variety of hiking and climbing tours through the unspoiled nature of the Lötschental and its surroundings. These tours range in difficulty from easy to very challenging. Through the tourist office, you can get in touch with experienced mountain guides who can accompany you on tours ranging from a few hours to several days. From the chalet, you can also reach several mountain huts.

During your hikes, you will come across crystal-clear, sky-blue mountain lakes. These lakes are cold but wonderfully refreshing on warm days. If you remain quiet during your hikes, you have a good chance of spotting one of the many charming marmots, large rodents that thrive in the unspoiled Lötschental.

For flower and plant lovers, the Lötschental offers much to discover. In the alpine meadow near Chalet de Compagnie, many alpine flowers are already blooming. In spring, when the snow retreats from the glacier at the end of the narrow valley, some of the most unique plants and flowers appear. In summer, wild blueberries and strawberries are found everywhere, a delightful treat, especially when hiking with children.

From the Lötschental, you can easily reach the Rhône Valley by bus or car, where there is plenty to see and do during the summer. For example, you can visit one of the castles or enjoy the hot springs in a spa. For families with children, a visit to Brigerbad, a large thermal pool and spa, is highly recommended. Since summers in the Rhône Valley can get very hot, it is a relief to return to the cooler Lötschental, where the fresh mountain air allows you to breathe freely and the nights, due to the altitude, never get too warm.

From November to April, all our guests receive the Lötschental Card, which allows you to enjoy various extras. Outside the winter sports season, you can use the cable car from Wiler to Lauchernalp for free and travel by Postbus between Goppenstein and Fafleralp. You also have free access to the indoor pool in Steg and the Lötschental Museum, and can enjoy a game of mini-golf at no extra cost.
